Long Bridge Project
On a rainy morning, the sky was already bright. Running to take cover under a building’s passage, I still felt the icy chill of rain soaking me through. Unconsciously, I hummed a familiar song. With the vibration of the sound, the wet, cold water on the ground began to stir and bubble, turning into steam, reaching ignition. At any moment, it could erupt into a localized explosion.
Coincidentally, I was near a factory. I ducked into an uncovered workshop, leaning against a wall. The splashing explosive material and the shockwave startled the factory workers, who rushed with high-pressure hoses to extinguish the still-boiling steam. As the factory managers checked the surveillance footage, they identified the person responsible—I was detained.
The rain stopped, and the sun shone brightly. In the very center of the sky appeared a mirage-like scene on the ground. The factory head explained that it was their Long Bridge Project, aligned directly with the long bridge above the ground passage.
I was thus treated as the culprit and restrained. No one believed me. The long bridge, combined with the regular vibrations from the ground, had triggered a pre-set doomsday switch, manipulated by a vast and unknown force behind the scenes.
But soon, more vehicles and planes began to lose control, crashing or veering wildly. Gradually, some people began to believe my account.
