因为多个世界（地域），在相互不被发现、了解之前，都曾单独或是现状存在很长一段时间，有各自不同的时间运行规则。这里，为方便读者更好掌握、看懂整个《海城墙》诗歌作品的故事以及情节，特意指出：它们时间上的差别。
现世、王国，异界、冥城
在某一次旋转周期相遇后，他们众人各自发现彼此存在的二十年里，时间统一行进，相互羁绊。随着周期的开始远离，直到下一周期，异界的时间向过去发展，即二十年后又回到冥城的四十年初样。现世，王国则以持续不断现在时发展下去。寓意异界生命的顽强，与现世需要足够的能力才能避免或是彻底改变、杀死他们。
这里，以每20年周期（末）主要人物，生命的存在形式作为切入点，简单罗列出以下表格：

- 5个序号分别代表五个不同周期。以现世的时间表计算，分别即：第20年……和第100年。
- 异界人，复活周期每40年一次。注意：第②周期，马修假死过一回。
- 只有异界的人可以重生；同“世界”的人，被同族杀死，都不会再次复活。马修，是个例外。
- 国王（王子），在奉马修之命——“杀死”马修、以杀死薨王——的过程中，被薨王杀死。
云城
王国、冥城的时间，相对云城处于一个发展的初期阶段；云城时间，则总是相对于现世、异界，在未来的某一节点。详见小说《云的国》。
这里只简单提一下：云城上的人是不会死的，因为ta们没有躯体，只有灵魂（大都被”异界“杀死的王国人）。当然也有例外，即：最初异界的人，若死后去到云城，是有可能再次死亡、经历轮回，回到冥城的。（马修身世之谜）
宿命的循环，只专属于最初的异界人。
Because multiple worlds (regions) existed separately or in the status quo for a long time before they were discovered and understood by each other, they have different rules of time operation. Here, in order to make it easier for readers to master and understand the story and plot of the poem “Sea Wall”, it is specially pointed out: their differences in time.
The World, Kingdom; the Outsider, HellCity
In the twenty years after they met each other in a rotation cycle, their time progressed uniformly and they were bound by each other. As the cycle began to move away, until the next cycle, the time of the Outsider developed backwards, that is, twenty years later it returned to the beginning of the forty years of HellCity. The World, Kingdom continued to develop in a continuous present tense. It implies the tenacity of life in the Outsider, and the need for enough ability in the World to avoid or completely change or kill them.
Here, taking the main characters’ forms of existence in each 20-year cycle (end) as a starting point, a simple table is listed below:

- The 5 serial numbers represent five different cycles. Calculated by the World’s timetable, they are: the 20th year… and the 100th year.
- The people of the Outsider have a resurrection cycle every 40 years. Note: In the second cycle, Matthew faked his death once.
- Only people from the Outsider can be reborn; people from the same “world”, if killed by their own kind, will not be resurrected. Matthew is an exception.
- The king (prince), following Matthew’s order – “kill” Matthew, to kill King Hong – was killed by King Hong.
Cloud City
The time of Kingdom and HellCity is in an early stage of development relative to Cloud City; Cloud City’s time is always at some point in the future relative to the World and the Outsider. See the novel “Cloud Country” for details.
Here just briefly mention: The people on Cloud City do not die because they have no bodies, only souls (mostly people from Kingdom who were killed by “the Outsider”). Of course there are exceptions, that is: The original people of the Outsider, if they die and go to Cloud City, may die again, experience reincarnation, and return to HellCity. (The mystery of Matthew’s origin)
The cycle of fate is only exclusive to the original people of the Outsider.
